THE RETREAT: The MKS retreat format is unique. Kitemakers bring their sewing machines and supplies, and everyone sets up in a large conference room. All presentations are made in the same room so there's no need to carry machines around. There are projects for both the beginning and advanced kitemaker. The retreat is a wonderful place to see old friends, make new ones, and learn and play!

REGISTRATION: This year’s registration cost is $175 per person. The Saturday night banquet is included in your registration.  Additional banquet tickets can be purchased for $55.00 per person.  Checks for your registration for the Retreat should be made out to the Maryland Kite Society and mailed to MKS at 10113 Lloyd Road, Potomac, MD., 20854. GENERAL INFORMATION: The 2023 retreat will be held from Friday, February 17 to Monday noon, February 20, at the wonderful Turf Valley Resort in Ellicott City, Maryland. Ellicott City is a charming historic town with wonderful art galleries, great restaurants of all kinds, and lots of shops. Downtown Ellicott City is a commercially and culturally vibrant historic district of national reputation. 

HOTEL INFORMATION: Our room cost is $125.00 per night for 1 or 2 beds. Deluxe rooms and junior suites are $150.00 per night. The resort also has a luxury spa -- a real vacation for non-kitemaking spouses. You need to make your own hotel reservations by calling 410-465-1500 and mentioning our group code, 28A59G. Check in is at 4:00 p.m. and check out is at noon.  Our rates will be honored 3 days before and after our retreat dates. 6% Maryland tax and 7% Howard County room taxes will be added to the room rates.
