MKS Kite Retreats

The MKS retreat format is unique. Kitemakers bring their sewing machines and supplies, and everyone sets up in a large conference room. All presentations are made in the same room so there's no need to carry machines around. There are projects for both the beginning and advanced kitemaker  and some for non-kitemaking spouses. The retreat is a wonderful place to see old friends, make new ones, and learn and play!

Our winter 2012 retreat will be held at the wonderful Turf Valley Resort in Ellicott City, Maryland. Ellicott City is a charming historic town with wonderful art galleries, great restaurants of all kinds, and lots of shops. Downtown Ellicott City is a commercially and culturally vibrant historic district of national reputation. Our room cost is $94.00 per night including parking for 1 or 2 beds. Deluxe rooms and junior suites are $109.00 per night.

The details of the hotel are as follows:

Room rates are the same as the last 2 years for single or double occupancy:

• Traditional 1 bed $94 / night

• Traditional 2 beds $94 / night

• Golf view 2 queens $109 / night

6% Maryland tax and 5% Howard County room taxes will be added to the room rates.

If you want to come earlier or stay later, these rates will be honored 3 days before and 3 days after our meeting dates.
